Practical Examination

Practical Examinations are administered in March and September of each year. Deadlines to submit the application for the examination are 45 days prior to the examination date.

Deadlines for submission are: January 22nd and July 18th.
Examination dates for 2008 are:  March 5th and September 3rd.

Meeting Dates

The Arizona State Board of Dispensing Opticians usually meets the first Wednesday of each month unless otherwise specified.   The Board has changed its regularly scheduled meeting time from 1:00 pm to 10:00 am.

                                     MEETING DATES FOR 2008 

On all meeting dates (with the exception of the March and September dates when exams are administered) the Board will meet at 10:00 am for regular meetings and 10:00 am for teleconferences. 

Continuing Education

Each licensee shall submit documentation to the Board verifying that the licensee has completed 12 hours or more of continuing education, within each three-year period. Of the twelve hours of continuing education, each licensee shall obtain at least:
